Betacap Lotion is usually safe for most people to use but there are a small number of people who should not use Betacap Lotion. Do not use Betacap Lotion:

  • If you allergic to betamethasone or any of the other ingredients

  • Apply twice a day, morning and evening, until you notice an improvement in your scalp condition. On days when you shampoo your hair, apply Betacap Scalp Application after drying the hair

Always read the patient information leaflet before use, remembering Betacap Solution (100ml) should only be used on psoriasis or seborrhoeic dermatitis that is affecting the scalp.

Betacap 0.1%

To apply Betacap 0.1% for adults you should follow these steps:

  • Carefully turn the Betacap 0.1% bottle upside-down over your head, holding the nozzle against the part of the scalp to be treated
  • Gently squeeze the bottle until the affected area is coated with a thin layer of the preparation
  • Gently massage the application into the scalp to prevent it from running off
  • Allow the treated scalp to dry naturally
  • Do not use a hair drier
  • Your scalp will feel cool until the liquid has dried. The active ingredient is then left on your scalp
  • Always wash your hands after use

When you can see that your scalp condition is getting better, you can start to apply Betacap Scalp Application less often, only once a day or even less. The amount of time you use Betacap 0.1% application should then be reduced to the minimum necessary to keep your scalp condition under control.

Betacap 0.1 Scalp Application

Betacap 0.1 Scalp Application for children should be applied in the same as you apply Betacap 0.1 Scalp Application in adults but use a little less of it. When treating seborrhoeic dermatitis in children, you should not use Betacap 0.1 Scalp Application for longer than 7 days.

  • Keep out of the reach and sight of children
  • Do not use Betacap Scalp Application after the expiry date
  • Do not store above 25°C

  • Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste (return to your local pharmacy for safe disposal)
