Ventolin evohaler (Salbutamol – Blue Inhaler) is an Athma inhaler used to relieve symptoms of asthma and COPD such as coughing, wheezing and feeling breathless. Similarly to other Asthma treatments, Salbutamol works by relaxing the muscles of the airways into the lungs which makes it easier to breathe. Buy inhaler online today by clicking ‘Start FREE consultation’ above.

Ventolin contains the active ingredient Salbutamol Sulphate used in the treatment of Asthma. It is the common blue reliever inhaler used by asthma sufferers. The Evohaler also contains 100ug of Salbutamol, a quick-acting drug that helps stops an asthma attack when it occurs.

Salbutamol inhalers work by opening up the airways in your lungs, allowing you to breathe more easily. The medicine, which belongs to a group of medicines called fast acting bronchodilators makes it easier for the air to move in and out of the lungs.

What is a Ventolin Evohaler?

Ventolin Evohalers are called ‘reliever’ inhalers (blue inhaler) because they give you quick relief from breathing problems as required, only when you need them. In most cases, you will be given another inhaler to ‘prevent’ your symptoms and you should use this regularly every day. If you need to use your salbutamol inhaler more than 3 times a week, it could be a sign that your breathing problem is not well controlled.

They are prescription treatment only and are not available to buy over the counter (OTC). Your doctor will need to assess your condition and develop a plan for your asthma. You can buy inhaler online from My Pharmacy after filling out the quick medical consultation above. Our experts will then review your answers and if you meet the requirements, we can deliver your inhalers straight to your door.

How and when to use your Ventolin Evohaler

Unlike ‘Preventer Inhalers’ you should only use your Ventolin Evohaler when you need it. This may be when you notice symptoms, such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and tightness in the chest. Or if you know that you are going to do an activity that can make you breathless.

The normal Asthma inhaler dose for adults is one or two puffs when you need it, up to a maximum of four times in 24 hours (regardless of whether you have 1 puff or 2 puffs).

If you take more than the recommended amount of Ventolin, you may notice your heart beating faster and may feel shaky. However, this will usually go away within 30 minutes up to a few hours at most. The side effects of inhaling too much is not dangerous. However if you are experiencing chest pains please call your doctor.

What is Asthma?

Asthma is a common respiratory condition caused by the inflammation of the lungs, particularly in the smaller airways and air sacs, making breathing more difficult. Asthma is a long-term condition which cannot be cured, however the symptoms can be managed and usually vary in severity over time.

Common causes include:
  • Cold air
  • Airborne substances (pollen or dust mites)
  • Air pollutants (smoke)
  • Respiratory infections like the common cold
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease

The main symptoms of asthma are:
  • Wheezing (a whistling sound when breathing)
  • Breathlessness
  • A tight chest, which may feel like a band is tightening around it
  • Coughing
  • The symptoms can sometimes get temporarily worse. This is known as an asthma attack.

For the reason that several other conditions can cause similar symptoms, it’s important to get a proper diagnosis and correct treatment.

Your GP will usually be able to diagnose asthma by asking about symptoms and carrying out some simple tests before prescribing any Asthma treatments. Buy inhaler online above.

What is Asthma?

Asthma is a common lung condition that causes occasional breathing difficulties.

It affects people of all ages and often starts in childhood, although it can also develop for the first time in adults.

There’s currently no cure, but there are simple treatments that can help keep the symptoms under control so it doesn’t have a big impact on your life.

Symptoms

The main symptoms of asthma are:

● Wheezing (a whistling sound when breathing)
● Breathlessness
● A tight chest, which may feel like a band is tightening around it
● Coughing

The symptoms can sometimes get temporarily worse. This is known as an asthma attack.

Treatments

The main types are:

● Reliever inhalers – used when needed to quickly relieve asthma symptoms (salbutamol)
● Preventer inhalers (steroid) – used every day to prevent asthma symptoms occurring
● Some people also need to take tablets.

Causes and triggers

Asthma is caused by swelling (inflammation) of the breathing tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs. This makes the tubes highly sensitive, so they temporarily narrow.

It may occur randomly or after exposure to a trigger. Common asthma triggers include:

● Allergies – to house dust mites, animal fur or pollen, for example
● Smoke, pollution and cold air
● Exercise
● Infections like colds or flu
● Identifying and avoiding your asthma triggers can help you keep your symptoms under control
