What Doxycycline is and what it is used for
Doxycycline contains the active substance Doxycycline. Doxycycline is an antibiotic belonging to a group of medicines called tetracyclines. Along with a number of different types of infections, Doxycycline is used to treat acne.
At the core of its operation, Doxycycline works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. This action is achieved by binding to a ribosomal subunit of the bacteria, which prevents amino acids from linking together. As a result, the bacteria are unable to function properly due to the absence of these proteins.
What Finacea is and what it is used for
Finacea 15% Gel contains the active substance azelaic acid and belongs to the group of anti-acne preparations for external use (on the skin). Finacea is for the relief of mild to moderate papulopustular acne of the face and the treatment of papulopustular rosacea. Papulopustular acne and rosacea are associated with inflamed papules and pustules.
