Covonia Original Bronchial Balsam Syrup - 150ml

Covonia Original Bronchial Balsam Syrup relieves a non-productive coughs such as those associated with the common cold and bronchitis. Covonia Original Bronchial Balsam Syrup gives a fast-acting syrup for suppressing coughs, relieving irritation in the chest or sore throat.

Covonia original bronchial balsam syrup contains two active ingredients; dextromethorphan and menthol.

Dextromethorphan is a type of medicine called a cough suppressant. It works by blocking the cough reflex.

Dextromethorphan reduces the nerve signals that are sent from a part of the brain called the coughing centre to the muscles that produce coughing. This reduces the urge to cough.

Menthol has mild cooling and decongestant properties that help soothe a cough and ease congestion in the nasal passages and lungs.

Do not use if:

•The patient is under the age of 12 years.
•This medicine can make you feel drowsy or sleepy, if this happens to you, do not drive or operate machinery.
•This medication contains ethanol (alcohol).
•Do not take with other cold and flu products including decongestants.

•Please consult your pharmacist or doctor if you are currently taking any other medicines as this may cause an interaction.

Recommended doses

Adults and children over 12 years: 10ml.

Elderly: as adults dose with caution.

Dosage schedule

The dose may be repeated after 4 hours if required.

Active ingredients: dextromethorphan hydrobromide 7.5mg/ 5ml and menthol 2.5mg/5ml.

Other ingredients: ethanol, glycerol (E422), sucrose. Alcohol 0.18 vol%. Sucrose 3.07g per 5ml.
Per 5ml: Menthol 2.5mg.
