Pirinase Allergy Nasal Spray helps both prevent and relieve allergy symptoms caused by airborne triggers such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites, and mould spores. It provides up to 24 hours of relief from sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, and watery eyes, helping you breathe more easily and feel more comfortable throughout the day.

How Pirinase Allergy Nasal Spray works

The spray contains fluticasone propionate, a corticosteroid that works by reducing inflammation inside the nasal passages. When allergens such as pollen or dust enter your nose, your body releases inflammatory chemicals that cause swelling, itching, and congestion. Pirinase helps to calm this reaction, preventing these symptoms before they start and controlling them if they appear.

    Directions

Always use Pirinase Allergy Nasal Spray exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you, or as described in the patient information leaflet.
    1. Shake the bottle gently before each use.
    2. Remove the cap and prime the spray if using for the first time (by pressing down several times until a fine mist appears).
    3. Blow your nose to clear your nostrils.
    4. Close one nostril, insert the nozzle into the other, and tilt your head slightly forward.
    5. Spray once while gently breathing in through your nose.
    6. Repeat in the other nostril.

    Typical dosage

Use 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. Once symptoms improve, reduce to 1 spray in each nostril daily. If symptoms are severe, you may use 2 sprays in each nostril twice a day. When things improve, return to the original dose. Do not exceed 4 sprays per nostril within 24 hours. If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember, then continue as normal - do not double the next dose.

    Side effects

Like all medicines, Pirinase may cause side effects, though not everyone will experience them. Common side effects include:
    • headache
    • unpleasant taste or smell
    • nosebleeds
    • dryness or irritation in the nose or throat
These effects are usually mild and temporary. If irritation persists, speak to your pharmacist or doctor. You can report any side effects to the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

    Serious side effects

Stop using the spray and seek urgent medical help if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as:
    • swelling of the face, lips, or throat
    • difficulty breathing
    • rash, itching, or dizziness
    • loss of consciousness

    Warnings and precautions

Do not use this product if you are allergic to fluticasone propionate or any of the other ingredients listed in the leaflet. For use in the nose only - do not swallow or spray into your eyes or mouth. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using Pirinase if you:

    • are using ketoconazole for fungal infections
    • have ongoing asthma or other long-term respiratory issues
    • Long-term use or high doses may increase the risk of side effects, so always follow the recommended dosage.
