What is Cetraben Ointment?
Cetraben 3-in-1 is an ointment that provides you with additional hydration that can't be delivered by creams and lotions. It can be used as an emollient treatment applied directly to your skin, as a soap substitute or as something you can add to your bath.
Who can use Cetraben Ointment?
Cetraben 3-in-1 ointment is suitable for all ages, and as it is fragrance and SLS free, it can be used on all kinds of sensitive skin.
How do I use Cetraben ointment?
The NHS recommends that emollient ointments are good for night-time use, as they are greasy, thick and moisturising. However, if you do use them at night, remember to make sure that you wash bedding regularly to avoid product-build up as fabric in contact with this ointment burns more easily.
The way in which you use the ointment can vary depending on how you wish to use it:
- Emollient: wash hands before and after use. Apply directly to dry skin areas as often as required. Then smooth ointment gently into the skin, following the direction of hair growth.
- Bath additive: melt about 4g (roughly a teaspoonful) of ointment in hot water and a suitable container. Add to the bath, making sure the water has been cooled first.
- Soap substitute: take a small amount of Cetraben, lather it under warm water, and use as required when washing or in the shower. Pat skin dry afterwards.
If you have broken, badly cracked, infected or bleeding skin then you should seek medical advice before using emollients.
Storage information
Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 25°. Keep away from direct sunlight or heat sources, and do not freeze or refrigerate the product.
Warning
Cetraben ointment has a high paraffin content, which is flammable. If the ointment is used incorrectly or is not appropriately stored, then this can cause injury. Additionally, you should make sure to not get any ointment on clothing, as this can make them more flammable.
