Spray into the back of the throat three times for adults and teens, and just once for children aged 6-12. - Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with breathing difficulties or who have severe difficulty swallowing
- Anyone with an allergy to benzocaine or similar local anaesthetics
- People with the rare blood condition known as methemoglobinemia.
