  • What Is Numark Sore Throat Spray?

    Numark Sore Throat Spray is used to relieve the pain of sore throats. The product contains benzocaine, which is a local anaesthetic. It has a fast action and works by numbing the pain of a sore throat.

    Before You Use Numark Sore Throat Spray

    Do not use this product:

    • in children 12 years and under
    • if you have difficulty in breathing, noisy breathing or severe difficulty in swallowing. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor if this applies to you
    • if you are allergic to benzocaine or any of the other ingredients.
    • if you have a rare blood condition called methaemoglobinaemia
    • if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

    How To Use

    Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years:
    1. Shake the container before use
    2. Before use it may be necessary to press the plunger 3 times to activate the spray. If necessary this process can be repeated. Do this away from your face, into a sink
    3. Do not spray into eyes. If you accidentally spray into eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water.

    Side Effects

    Like all medicines, Numark Sore Throat Spray can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Some of these side effects include those of an allergic reaction such as:
    • severe rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips or mouth
    • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    Ingredients

    Each metered dose (spray) of this medicine contains the active ingredient Benzocaine 1.5mg. The other ingredients are Cetylpyridinium Chloride, Glycerin, Ethanol, Clove Bud Oil, Peppermint, Menthol, Saccharin Sodium 450, Cremophor RH40 (Polyethoxylated Castor Oil) and Purified Water.
