Throat pain is a common symptom of cold and flu, smoking, and mouth or throat surgery, such as tonsil removal. A sore, painful, dry, scratchy throat with redness, bad breath, mild cough and swollen neck glands, can make it difficult to swallow or talk. Covonia Dual Action Throat Spray contains the active ingredients: chlorhexidine gluconate and lidocaine hydrochloride. Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic medication and disinfectant that kills throat infection causing bacteria, viruses and fungi, whilst lidocaine is an anaesthetic that numbs throat pain by blocking the pathway of pain signals along nerves. Simply spray 3-5 times in the mouth for effective relief from sore throat and mouth pain.
What is Covonia throat spray used for?
Covonia throat spray contains chlorhexidine, an antiseptic and lidocaine which is a local pain killer. Consequently It relieves the symptoms of painful, irritated sore throats.
How do you use Covonia spray ?
First, avoid contact with the eyes.
Next, point the spray nozzle towards the back of your throat and press the spray button.
Finally, after each use turn the tube back down to close the spray.
If after a number of applications the spray nozzle gets blocked the pump will malfunction. To correct this problem, remove the spray tube from the pump and clean it in a cup of hot water for a few minutes. Then allow it to dry before fixing the tube back onto the pump.
What causes a sore throat?
A sore throat is when you experience a painful scratchy feeling in your mouth or throat. Infections can also cause sore throats. In addition dry air can be a factor.
The symptoms include scratching,burning,rawness and tenderness. Swallowing or talking may hurt and white patches could be visible on the tonsils.
Colds and flu are the most common causes of a sore throat. Otherwise,viruses can cause sore throats. Measles,chicken pox and mumps are the most common, sore throat causing, viruses.
Strep throat is a common bacterial infection. Children are the most susceptible to Strep throat. Allergies can also cause throat irritation.

immediate medical help: swelling of the face, lips,
tongue or throat; a red itchy skin rash; wheezing
or difficulty breathing; feeling faint and dizzy;
a strange metallic taste in the mouth; collapse.
You may be having an allergic reaction.
Other side effects:
• Skin sensitivity.
• Temporary discolouration of the teeth and
• Burning sensation on the tongue.
• Taste disturbances.
• Swelling of salivary glands.
