Askit Powders are for the relief of mild to moderate aches and pains including headaches, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat, period pains, also relieves the symptoms of colds, influenza and reduce high temperature.
Through their anti-inflammatory action Askit Powders help relieve the pain of strains, sprains, rheumatic pain including backache, sciatica, lumbago, fibrositis, muscular aches and pains, joint swelling and stiffness.
Askit Powders contain aspirin, aloxiprin and caffeine citrate:
Aspirin and aloxiprin are used for the treatment of pain and reduction of fever, and also have anti-inflammatory properties.
Caffeine is a naturally occurring stimulant
Askit Powders Directions:
Adults and children over 16:
- Mix the contents of one Askit sachet in a glass of water and stir before taking
- Or place on the tongue and swallow with a drink of water
- One sachet to be taken at 4 hourly intervals, until symptoms subside
- Up to 6 sachets in 24 hours
Do not give to any children under 16 years unless on the advice of a doctor
- If symptoms persist consult your doctor
- Make sure you follow the dosage instructions in your own product
- In the case of overdose seek immediate medical attention
Each sachet of Askit Powders contains: 530mg of aspirin, 140mg of aloxiprin and 110mg of caffeine citrate.
Each sachet also contains: lactose, sodium lauryl sulphate and colloidal anhydrous silica.
You should not take Askit Powders if you:
- Are sensitive to aspirin or any of the ingredients
- Have bleeding disorders such as haemophilia
- Suffer from stomach or duodenal ulcers
There is a possible association between aspirin and Reye's syndrome when given to children. Reye's syndrome is a very rare disease which can be fatal. For this reason aspirin should not be given to any children under 16 years.
Askit Powders can affect the way in which other medicines work. If you are taking medicines which 'thin' the blood (e.g. warfarin), medicines to treat gout, or any other prescribed medicine speak to your doctor or a pharmacist before taking Askit Powders.
If pregnant or breast-feeding consult your doctor before taking Askit Powders as aspirin can prolong labour, as well as affect blood-clotting mechanisms in the mother and baby.
Askit Powders possible side-effects:
- Aspirin, one of the active ingredients, can cause stomach bleeding in some people.
- It may also cause asthma attacks or other hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. runny nose, rash or other skin reactions) in some people or allergic reactions such as bronchospasm (breathing difficulties).
- Aloxiprin can cause constipation.
