Contac Dual Relief Tablets is a new formulation of Contac 12 Hour Relief Capsules
Contac Non Drowsy Dual Relief provide relief from the symptoms of: Colds and flu including nasal congestion, sinus pain, pressure and congestion, headaches, fever, sore throat, aches and pains.
Contac Dual Relief Tablets contain: Paracetamol which is a pain killer and Pseudoephedrine which is a decongestant.

- Relieves headache and pain
Pseudoephedrine Restrictions: Products containing pseudoephedrine are legally limited to one item per order, because this has in some cases been used to manufacture illegal drugs

How to take Contac Dual Relief:
- Do not give to children under 12 years of age
- Always read the full information with your own product
- For oral use only
Adults (including the elderly) and children aged 12 years and over: 2 tablets to be taken every four to six hours as required for symptom relief
- Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours
- Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours
- Do not take more than the stated dose
If symptoms persist consult your doctor
If you take too many tablets: Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage.
Each Contac Dual Relief tablet contains the active ingredients: Paracetamol 500mg and Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 30mg.
Other ingredients: Cellulose microcrystalline (E460), colloidal anhydrous silica (E551), stearic acid (E570), magnesium stearate (E572), starch pregelatinised, povidone, crospovidone, croscarmellose sodium (E468), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (E464), macrogol, carnauba wax (E903), indigo carmine (E132).
Do not take Contac Dual Relief Tablets if you:
- have ever had an allergic reaction to pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, paracetamol or to any of the other ingredients
- have taken other medicines for the relief of colds and flu, congestion or blocked nose, or with appetite suppressants
- have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) e.g. moclobemide, prescribed for depression in the last two weeks
- are taking other medicines containing paracetamol
Ask your doctor before you take Contac Dual Relief Tablets if you:
- suffer from kidney problems, heart disease, or high blood pressure
- have glaucoma
- have an enlarged prostate or an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism)
- have diabetes mellitus
If you are taking other medicines: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Contac Dual Relief Tablets if you are taking any prescribed medicines; particularly metoclopramide or domperidone (for nausea [feeling sick] or vomiting [being sick]) or colestyramine (to lower blood cholesterol), or if you take blood thinning drugs (anti-coagulants e.g. warfarin), or medicines to control your blood pressure (e.g. alpha or beta blockers, or methyldopa) or medicines for depression e.g. tricyclic antidepressants).
Pregnancy and breast feeding: Do not take Contac Dual Relief Tablets if you are pregnant or breast feeding unless your doctor tells you to.
Like all medicines, Contac Non Drowsy Dual Relief can have side effects, but not everybody gets them:
Stop taking the medicine and tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately if you experience:
- Allergic reactions which may be severe such as skin rash and itching, sometimes with swelling of the mouth or face or shortness of breath.
- Skin rash or peeling, or mouth ulcers.
- Breathing problems. These are more likely if you have experienced them before when taking other painkillers such as ibuprofen or aspirin.
- Unexplained bruising or bleeding.
- Nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite or yellowing of the skin.
- Dizziness, dry mouth, insomnia, nervousness, hallucinations, agitation and restlessness.
- Difficulty in passing water can occur if you have an enlarged prostate gland.
- Hypersensitivity reactions including angio-oedema (swelling of the throat).
There have been very rare reports of blood disorders but these were not necessarily related to the tablets: Those effects should go away once you stop taking the medicine.
If you do get any side effects, even those not mentioned in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
