Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules provide effective relief from the symptoms of hayfever and other allergic conditions such as:
- Hayfever
- Dust allergies
- Pet allergies
- Skin allergies
It can also be used to treat the symptoms of urticaria, also known as hives, where the skin looks blotchy, with white raised wheals (bumps) surrounded by redness.
- Active in 15 minutes
- Lasts for 8 hours
Benadryl Allergy Relief contains Acrivastine: Acrivastine is an antihistamine that helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.
How to take Benadryl Allergy Relief:
- Always read the full information in your own product
Adults and Children over 12 - 65 years:
- Take 1 Benadryl Allergy Relief capsule three times a day
- Do not take more than 3 doses in 24 hours
- If your symptoms persist talk to your doctor
Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules are not recommended for:
- Children under 12 years
- Adults over 65 years
If anyone has too many capsules: contact a doctor or your nearest Accident and Emergency Department (Casualty) taking taking the leaflet and pack with you.
Each Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsule contains the active ingredient: 8.0 mg of Acrivastine
The Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsule also contains: Lactose, sodium starch glycollate, magnesium stearate, gelatin, colouring (E171) and purified water.
Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules is suitable for most adults under 65 years old and children aged 12 years and over but a few people should not use it. If you are in any doubt, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not take Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules if:
- You have ever had a reaction to this product or to any of its ingredients or the antihistamine triprolidine
- You have kidney disease
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Benadryl Allergy Relief if you:
- Are taking any other medicines including
- Sedatives or tranquilliser (used to treat anxiety or sleep disorders)
- Ketoconazole (an antifungal to treat fungal infections)
- Erythromycin (an antibiotic to treat bacterial infections)
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: If you are pregnant or breast-feeding ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine
Driving and using machinery:In most people that Benadryl Allergy Relief does not cause drowsiness. However, there are rare exceptions and you should take care when you use this product for the first time. If this product makes you feel drowsy, do not drive or operate machinery.
- Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking Benadryl Allergy Relief
- As with all antihistamines it is advisable to avoid excessive alcohol consumption when taking Benadryl Allergy Relief
Benadryl Allergy Relief also contains lactose: If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
Possible side effects: Like all medicines Benadryl Allergy Relief can have side-effects although these are usually mild.
