Clamelle Test Kit
Chlamelle Test Kit - everything you need for a totally confidential test:
Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the UK. 1 in 10 young people who are sexually active have chlamydia - and they don't know it.
Chlamydia is easy to transmit between sexual partners. Both males and females very often have no symptoms. However, if not treated, chlamydia can cause pelvic pain, infertility and blocked fallopian tubes in females; in males, testicular problems and reduced fertility can occur. Chlamydia is easy to diagnose and even easier to treat.
This test is only for chlamydia. If you want to be tested for other STIs, speak to your pharmacist for advice on where to go.
Remember - use condoms to reduce the chance of getting or passing on an STI.
Clamelle Test Kit Directions:
Always read the full information in your own product
You must be 16 years or older:
- Collect the urine first thing in the morning when it is at its most concentrated.
- If you have already passed urine, wait 2-3 hours before collecting the sample. This is essential as it will ensure the sample is at its most concentrated.
This test kit can be used in pregnancy. However if you are pregnant and your test result is positive, you will need to see your GP or visit a sexual health clinic for treatment.
- Remove all of the items from the packaging.
- Remove the urine sample bottle from the transport container.
- On the sample bottle ensure you write on your full name, date & time of collection of sample, date of birth and Unique Reference Number (URN). These are essential for sample identification. Samples will not be tested if these details are not completed.
- Unscrew the lid from the urine sample bottle, Urinate into the bottle, ensuring you catch the first few drops of urine that you pass. Fill the bottle to the line marked on the sample bottle.
- Screw the lid back on securely - this is to avoid any leaks during transport.
- If there is any urine on the bottle wipe it with a tissue. Wash your hands.
- Place the filled urine bottle into the transport container and screw on the lid tightly.
- Place the transport container into the plastic bag and seal the opening.
- Fill in your details on the test request form - please be clear with your writing. Remove and keep the verification tear off slip with your Unique Reference Number (URN) safe.
- Once the form is completed place it and the sealed plastic bag inside the pre-paid, padded envelope.
- To seal the envelope simply remove the tab on the lip of the envelope and press down firmly to seal it.
- The envelope is now ready to be posted. Post it as soon you can (the postage is pre-paid).
- You should receive your results within 7 days but it may be earlier.
