Prostate

The prostate is a gland about the size of a walnut which is only present in men. It produces a fluid which is mixed with sperm from the testes to produce semen. With age the prostate gland may begin to grow, and this squeezes the small tube that takes urine from the bladder to the penis, resulting is a weak flow of urine or difficulty passing urine and fully emptying the bladder. This is benign prostate hyperplasia or BPH, which can be treated by drugs or surgery, and some herbs such as Saw Palmetto may also help. Prostate cancer can also cause similar problems and  tends to develop in men over the age of fifty. It is one of the most prevalent types of cancer in men, so a proper diagnosis is essential.
