Homocysteine

'Homocysteine is the new cholesterol' because high levels of homocysteine are corrosive to the body. High homocysteine levels are more important than blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking, exercise and weight in predicting your health, and yet it is not something that your doctor will look at as part of your health check. This is one area that is entirely up to you. High homocysteine levels increase your risk for over fifty diseases including heart attacks, stroke, certain cancers, diabetes, depression and Alzheimer's disease.
