Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder where excessive electrical activity in the brain causes recurring seizures or fits. Epilepsy can occur at any age, but is more common in children and the elderly. Many people have their symptoms successfully controlled by drugs, but because Epilepsy symptoms vary so much, over 30% of sufferers find their symptoms are not well controlled. Epilepsy often occurs without any apparent cause, but can be triggered by brain injury or infection, and seizures caused by specific triggers such as high temperature, or stress.
