The Accu-Chek Aviva Blood Glucose Meter:

Alternative Site Testing (ATS): You have the option of obtaining a blood sample from other places on your body besides the fingertips. A blood sample can be used from the palm, forearm, upper arm, thigh, or calf. While fingertip blood can be tested at any time during the day, there are times when testing from any other approved site is not ideal - usually when your blood glucose is rapidly changing. It is important to talk to your health care professional before using Alternative Site Testing to find if it is suitable for you. Lancets
Please Note:There has been a change in the lancing device and lancets supplied with UK Accu-Chek Aviva Blood Glucose Meter. Originally the Accu-Chek Multiclix was supplied, but now the Accu-Chek FastClix is supplied. These are not interchangeable and so you should be careful to order the correct one for your pen. Different countries may find that Multiclix are still being supplied.
Your doctor can prescribe the test strips and lancets on a standard UK NHS prescription, in limited quantities if this is thought to be appropriate for your diabetes caare, but not the meter, finger pricker or control solutions.
PC download facility: You can download the readings from the meter's memory directly into your PC, and show the data as graphs and charts. This gives a much better indication of how your blood glucose levels change over time, by giving you an hourly, daily, or monthly picture.

Compatibility: The Aviva test strips and control solutions can not be used with any other meter, and no other test strips or control solutions will work with this meter.
Use Outside the UK: This meter gives readings in mmol/l, which are the standard units used in the UK. Some countries use the US standard of mg/dl and this meter will not be suitable for you to use
