Bonjela cool mint sugar free gel is a clear, almost colourless gel, which is applied to the inside of the mouth or gums.
Bonjela cool mint gel is a medicine to relieve the pain and discomfort of common mouth ulcers and to aid healing of sore spots and ulcers due to dentures in adults and braces in children. Also, to relieve the pain and discomfort of infant teething and cold sores.
Adults: Massage approximately one centimetre of bonjela cool mint gel onto the sore area. This can be repeated after 3 hours
Denture Sores: Massage approximately one centimetre of bonjela
cool mint gel onto the sore area, and leave at least 30 minutes before
reinserting the dentures. Do not apply bonjela cool mint gel directly onto the dentures
Children:
Using a clean finger, massage approximately one half of a centimetre of bonjela cool mint gel onto the sore area. This can be repeated after 3 hours
- No more than 6 doses in 24 hours
If your symptoms do not go away after 7 days of treatment, you should see your doctor or dentist.
Bonjela Cool Mint Gel contains the active ingredients: Choline salicylate 8.714%w/w and cetalkonium chloride 0.01%w/w.
Other ingredients: Ethanol 33.45% w/w, glycerol. menthol, hypromellose 4500, mint flavour, sodium saccharin and water.
As with all medicines, bonjela cool mint gel may not be suitable for everybody.
- Do not use this medicine if you are:
- allergic to salicylates or any of the product's ingredients. The product contains ethanol (alcohol) and glycerol (glycerin). Side-effects are rare and unlikely to occur if the product is used as directed. Glycerol can be harmful in high doses, and can cause headache, stomach upset and diarrhoea.
- taking medicine for blood clots or gout
- suffering from a stomach ulcer
- If you are pregnant, ask your doctor before using bonjela cool mint gel
- Not to be used in infants under 4 months
