Why Are We Happy? (Blog Post)

Dan Gilbert, author of “Stumbling on Happiness” asks the question “Why are we happy?”, and illustrates his results to a TED audience. He makes several surprising and fundamental points about happiness based on well documented studies.

The human brain is uniquely able to imagine, and this ability let’s us make everyday choices which influence how our future life will unfold. We all believe that the choices we make will increase our happiness, however, this isn’t usually the case. Research shows that the choices we make and the events in our lives really have little effect on our happiness after three months have passed by.
